  • 28 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the matter on the Floor of the House is causing a lot of concern and, indeed, it is serious in other constituencies. In my constituency, I was promised that during this financial year, electricity would be supplied to the Soloya Centre. I was told that almost Kshs4 million had been awarded. 3958 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES November 28, 2006 view
  • 28 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: When will the centre be supplied with electricity? view
  • 22 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the problem that the hon. Member has talked about is very common everywhere. In my constituency, roads are repaired using earth instead of murram. When it rains, the earth is washed away. The water travels with the earth for up to three kilometres. You can tie something to it as a mark and follow it. You will travel so many--- view
  • 22 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, what is the Ministry's plan for repairing these roads? view
  • 14 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute briefly to this Bill. Kenya hosts refugees to whom she provides protection. Kenya, as well as the UNHCR, is key in keeping refugees. Refugees come into this country in big numbers. They comprise people of all ages, including animals. They come from neighbouring countries such as Somalia and Sudan, among others. As they stay, they multiply like ants. They come in large numbers because of the comfort they are accorded. The UNHCR gives them more privileges than their hosts. Consequently, the hosts are looked down upon. ... view
  • 2 Aug 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is lamentable and a deliberate isolation. I do not know what language to use, but this is lamentable. This road has remained unrepaired for over ten years and it is totally impassable because you cannot even ride a bicycle on this road. I cannot pass through Homa Bay when going to Migori. I have to go through Kisii because the potholes are terrible! Mr. Speaker, Sir, you can bear me witness that this is the tendency of this Ministry. Last year--- view
  • 2 Aug 2006 in National Assembly: Last year, during hon. Raila's tenure, the Ministry promised that Ongoche Bridge would be constructed in that financial year. But up to date, nothing has been done and there is no indication. The Ministry is giving people empty promises and this is their tendency. Could the Assistant Minister consider improving this area which is now deliberately isolated? view
  • 25 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Government should be blamed for the tribal clashes. Could the Minister consider writing off the debt that is disturbing the Saboti people? view
  • 4 May 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that kind of thing happens every two months, every year. Could the Assistant Minister consider putting up an emergency fund to take care of such incidences? view
  • 18 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, a lot of cane has been decaying in the fields in my constituency for the last three years. Could the Minister consider paying interest to the farmers whose cane has passed the normal harvesting period due to congestion at SONY? view
  • 6 Apr 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you have heard the Minister say that these tribunals will get their allowances in arrears. Is he suggesting that the hearing and determination of land cases will be stopped in Kenya? view
