This has been left open to a situation where all agricultural products will now be regulated by the Cabinet Secretary. There is no product that is known as “any other agricultural product”.   • 29 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. I am supporting it because Kenya is about to rebase its calculation for GDP. When that happens, the effect will be that Kenya will be in a better position to borrow externally. Kenya never had a situation where it could borrow money from private entities and banks. After the rebasing of the GDP, Kenya is set to become a middle-income country. In a scenario where we are a middle-income country the effect will be very positive in terms of attracting investment and credit worthiness of the country as a whole. ... view
  • 29 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. I am supporting it because Kenya is about to rebase its calculation for GDP. I want to say that I am very happy with the response because there is a constitutional principle which states that every law must be enforced until that law is amended or repealed. I am happy to be informed by the Leader of Majority Party that, indeed, Kenya is enforcing anti-gay laws. Therefore, we do not even have to go the Uganda way. What Uganda did was merely joining us. We showed the way and so we should maintain the momentum until that day this Parliament, probably, reconsiders the matter. I am, therefore, happy with ... view

I want to support the proposed deletion because some of the marriages which can be procured in foreign countries maybe inconsistent with our local laws. For instance, same sex marriages in South Africa may be incorporated into our laws. view

Temporary Deputy Chairman, Clause 57 provides that the Cabinet Secretary has the power to come up with regulations and have a situation where he can allow other forms of marriages through some form of regulations.
