23 Oct 2013 in National Assembly:
Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion because of five reasons. Number one, the way it is drafted. It is drafted in a very good way. It has teeth. Most of the Motions that I have been seeing here tend not to really have a very good remedy but this one has a very clear remedy, meaning once we pass this Motion, there are high chances that it will be implemented because of the way it is drafted. It has teeth. Number two, it is not of a selfish nature. Even us Members of Parliament ...

When you steal it is you who is taken to court but it is very unfair to visit that illegality on an innocent applicant. So, the point is these candidates did not commit any illegality. It is the panel which purportedly committed that illegality. It will ...

3 Oct 2013 in National Assembly:
Yes, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Number two, there is the argument that people with special needs were not considered. There has been an opinion in the Supreme Court defining what is a right which should be implemented now and a right that should be implemented systematically. These are special interests, issues related to the youth and gender. The Supreme Court in its wisdom has held that you cannot implement that right immediately. It is something that is progressive. So, therefore, my argument is that that is something that can be implemented.
