  • 2 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would not like to argue with the Minister but I can assure him that I know this road very well and even better than he does. That money will not be sufficient. Mr. Speaker, Sir, could he consider urgently tarmacking this road because that will be the permanent solution? Even if we do it to motorable standards, the road will still be impassable after it rains. Could he urgently look for funds to finance the tarmacking of this road so that this problem can be settled once and for all? view
  • 30 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity. I would like to say that this is a very important subject; I am very happy that when I look across the House, I see most hon. Members who come from the ASALs are in the Chamber the way I am in it, so that we can discuss this important Motion. I would like to congratulate the Minister because he comes from an ASAL region and, indeed, he has been very keen on the issue of livestock. • 28 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity. As the Minister rightly put it when he was moving this Motion, the Ministry of Agriculture needs a lot of money to be able to undertake the activities that they have listed and also to turn round the current ... view
  • 28 Oct 2008 in National Assembly: from Ukambani stands up, he or she says, "we have no food, we want relief food". This would be the right time to supply the seeds because the rainfall which is reliable in our area, is about to come. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, in the past, the performance of the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture has been very good in my region. Even now it is good. However, we have a problem of shortage of staff. You may have one agricultural officer in a division and as you know, 3058 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES October 28, 2008 areas in arid ... view
  • 23 Apr 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. Since I am contributing for the first time in the Tenth Parliament, I would like to introduce myself as Isaac Muoki, the Member for Kitui South. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to support this Motion. If you look at the Kenyan situation, you will find that we have so many documents in our wallets. We have ID cards, voters card, driving licence, PIN card and so many other cards. If we went further and combined those documents, it would be easier for us to carry ... view
