  • 4 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Could the Assistant Minister tell Kenyans what emergency numbers they have, so that they can call for help in case of any emergencies? view
  • 11 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the Assistant Minister in order to tell us that we continue to do shoddy jobs when we know very well that we have Works Engineers in the Ministry who are supposed to be supervising the activities that the Ministry is undertaking to do? view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Agriculture:- view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: (a) whether he was aware that there has been rainfall failure for several successive seasons in Mutomo District; and, view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: (b) whether he could urgently supply essential seeds to Mutomo farmers before the planting season. view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is unfortunate beacuse what the Assistant Minister is saying is not true. He also happens to come from the arid region of Ukambani and he knows very well what the Ministry gave people in Mutomo is not sufficient. Could he ensure, because we are expecting other rains in the next three months, that we will get enough seeds so that the people of Mutomo can plant adequately and, therefore, get food and not ask for famine relief? view
  • 11 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, given that he has said that the seeds he gave were not adequate, could I tell him that in the 1980s, we had a pilot project sponsored by DANIDA under which farmers used to do seed multiplication? This was very successful! Could he consider doing the same? The local farmers can multiply the seeds so that they can get enough of them? view
  • 4 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you will recall that we have dealt with a number of Questions on wildlife/human conflict. Almost every Member whose constituency borders a national park is experiencing this conflict. What is the Ministry doing to speed up the issue of fencing around national parks, so that we do not have these conflicts every now and then? view
  • 2 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads:- (a) considering that Kibwezi-Mutomo-Kitui Road (B7) is dilapidated as a result of neglect and becomes impassable when it rains, if he could take urgent steps to repair it, and; (b) what plans he has to tarmack it and finally extend the tarmac to the Kenya/Ethiopia border. view
  • 2 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is a very important road which will connect our country with Ethiopia. This road becomes impassable when it rains. There are so many streams flowing across that road and the terrain is very poor. The Kshs19 million which the Minister has allocated is not enough to make this road to motorable standards. Could the Minister consider increasing this allocation and, also, instruct his engineers to urgently do this road? view
