  • 29 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Energy:- (a) if he is aware that there are frequent power blackouts in Metkei Division and part of Chepkorio Division in Keiyo South Constituency; (b) what the cause of the blackouts is; and, (c) what measures he will take to ensure that the problem is solved. view
  • 29 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Minister for having attempted to answer this Question. In part (c) of his answer, he says that there is a new sub-station which has been constructed at Makutano, and that this has improved power stability in the area, including places like Timboroa, Londiani, Eldama Ravine and view
  • 29 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, while answering my question the Minister said one of the reasons for power interruptions is unreliable power supply. I believe that this unreliable power is affecting many Kenyans in this country. He has done very well in transforming the energy sector. There are some new initiatives such as geothermal power generation and wind energy which he has introduced. When will this country benefit from these initiatives? view

  • 27 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to second the amendment. As explained by Mr. Koech, the proposal on the formula was out of a process of serious consultations with different and various stakeholders. If we do not amend, it will be like going with the original formula given by CRA. In essence, what we are doing is to amend the initial CRA formula and clear the air to ensure that the formula that we have agreed upon is the one that we are carrying. I second. view
  • 22 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I believe that this Assistant Minister has been doing very well in the energy sector. As much as he says that oil has not been discovered, I want to tell him that his other Minister the other day was very happy saying that oil has been discovered in this country, unless they are not serving in the same Government. My question is: What steps are they taking to ensure that in future we have a university in this county which will train students in the field of petroleum, gas and oil exploration? view
  • 21 Nov 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in answering part “b” of the Question, the Assistant Minister has said that in 2008 the bridge was done and at that time it cost Kshs1 million, which was not sufficient. From 2008 to date, it is close to five years. The Assistant Minister has an emergency funds Kitty which he allocates to some roads in the country. Could he consider funding this bridge this financial year using the emergency funds kitty? He should also consider other roads in the constituency which are in deplorable state. view
  • 11 Oct 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I beg to ask the Minister of State for Public Service the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Could the Minister provide a list of all senior civil servants who have resigned from their jobs to contest for elective posts in the country? (b) What measures has the Minister put in place to ensure that the respective Ministries, parastatals and other Government bodies continue running uninterrupted before substantive officers are appointed to the affected offices? view
