  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, through this system, the Government is able to get its information from various parts of this country. My question to the Assistant Minister is: How do they prove that the information that they receive is genuine and not misleading from other people? Indeed, if they can prove that the information they receive is misleading, what action do they normally take against those people who are misleading the Government? view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, he is on a point of order. view
  • 17 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, in answering the Question, the Assistant Minister is trying to convince the House that this system is effective. But as we prepare for the elections, many political parties will be holding their grassroots elections. I am aware of one of the parties which held its grassroots elections two months ago and we witnessed a number of chaotic situations in many constituencies in this country. Did the system detect this chaos? view
  • 8 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, from the response by the Assistant Minister, he has said that five projects will benefit from carbon trading and he has mentioned the Mt. Kenya region. We have another four water towers including Mau, Cherangany and Aberdares. How come that the other water towers are not included in that project? view
  • 3 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, during the visit by the Minister, he did make some roadside declarations that the Government will meet all the medical expenses incurred by the victims. I would like to ask the Minister whether the medical bills were paid by the Ministry and if not, why he failed to fulfill the promise. view
  • 25 Apr 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Chair. While I do not have a problem with the proposal by the Committee, how are we addressing the issue of regional balance? You realize that as much as we will have persons nominated by different bodies, at the end of the day they might come from the same region. How do we handle such an issue? This is the issue of diversity. view
  • 13 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Agriculture the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Can the Minister assure the House that there will be sufficient supply of subsidized fertilizer to farmers during the current planting season? (b) Could the Minister indicate the volumes in tonnage available and state where the commodity can be purchased by farmers? view
  • 13 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, indeed, it is very clear that the Assistant Minister has confirmed that the fertilizer is not available and it will be available by the end of the week, if I heard your answer well. You have said that much of it is being transported as we talk now. My question is; to prove that the fertilizer will be available, could the Assistant Minister table a list of all the depots in the country where fertilizer can be purchased by farmers and indicate the stocks available in each of these depots countrywide? view
  • 13 Mar 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister tell us what long term measures he has put in place to ensure that, in future, fertilizer is made available to farmers well in advance before the planting season begins? view
