  • 4 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads:- (a) whether he is aware that the re-carpeting of Nyaru-Eldama Ravine Road has stalled; and, (b) why it has stalled and when the work will resume. view
  • 4 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Assistant Minister for answering this Question. He has said that the Ministry has allocated Kshs129,500,000 for the remaining portion of the road. Is he sure that this amount will be sufficient for the remaining 20 kilometres? view
  • 4 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, what measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that only authorized vehicles use that road? We have vehicles carrying sand from Iten using that road. The weight of the trucks is over 20 tonnes. If you drive through that road, you will realise that some sections of the road, which were repaired last time, are worn out. What measures have you put in place to address the situation? view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- (a) whether he is aware that the Government promised to provide motorbikes to chiefs in the country; and, (b) why he has not implemented the undertaking and when will it be implemented. view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as much as I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for saying that he is aware of that programme, he has said that the Ministry is planning to purchase 135 motorbikes for chiefs. The Assistant Minister should be aware that we have 210 constituencies with over 2,000 chiefs. These 135 motorbikes will just go to one district. What programme does the Ministry have to ensure that over 2,000 chiefs are given motorbikes? view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to know from the Assistant Minister whether, in that programme, he has included purchase of full gear, jackets, reflectors and helmets for the chiefs. view
  • 20 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has given a list of 15 parastatals that have defaulted and the Kenya Power and Lighting Company is one of them. If you will remember, last year, the KPLC declared a profit of about Kshs3 billion. How come they have defaulted? If they made profits, why have they defaulted? view
  • 8 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support the extension for this Committee. As said by the Chairman, within the next three months, I believe they should be able to visit all the constituencies and regions that they are yet to visit including Elgeyo Marakwet County where we have a number of integrated IDPs and GDPs. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as you are aware, there are a number of IDPs who have been resettled by the Government. I want to tell this Committee that within the three months they should be able to visit Rongai and Trans Nzoia ... view
  • 11 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Assistant Minister for the good work they are doing through the REA and the KPLC. However, for quite some time, there has been a challenge in provision of transformers. What measures has the Assistant Minister put in place to ensure that transformers are provided to schools, public health centres and public trading centres? We find that as much as the main line is constructed within time, it takes over six months for the transformers to be installed. view
  • 28 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, if I heard the Minister very well, she did say that one of the big dams in Kitui has stalled due to political issues. Being a Minister and a politician, I would like to know when these political issues will be sorted out so that this project can continue. view
