  • 10 Jun 2015 in National Assembly: We are also aware of thousands of foreigners who are serving jail terms in some countries, having been fixed by some criminal gangs or having been tricked into crime as they were trying to seek a living. Therefore, this is a God-sent opportunity. view

  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Deputy Speaker for this chance to contribute on the Bill. I support the amendment Bill by Hon. Kang’ata. At the outset, I appreciate what the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has done in ensuring that university students in this country who are mainly from poor backgrounds are able to go through university. I am one such example who used HELB loan to pay for the required school fees at the university. I know HELB is critical in ensuring that university students in Kenya are able to complete their studies. Otherwise, it would be a different ... view
  • 29 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: I also appreciate the fact that not all students who go through university or graduate are employed. In most cases, you start getting fined when you do not start paying the HELB loan. It is important that HELB develops a mechanism where they will be able to decide and know who has gotten into employment so that they do not start fining students who are not in employment. On the other hand, it is also important that students who get employment are also declared to HELB because we know that most students who are employed after university do not declare ... view
  • 15 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. At the outset, I rise to support this Motion because I think it is the first time we are having the quasi judicial bodies being held accountable by this Bill. These bodies, for example, the Transport Licensing Board (TLB), the Land Registration and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), some of the decisions they have always adopted have really brought a lot of suffering to people. For example, if you buy your matatus and you are denied a TLB, you feel that things have not been handled fairly. Therefore, for these reasons, hon. Temporary Deputy ... view
  • 15 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. At the outset, I would like to appreciate the fact that this Bill brings Christianity and Islam into coalition science. I would also want to appreciate the fact that it is not only about women as most speakers have put it.It has been said that we are supporting this Bill to help women. That is not the case. It is not only women who are faced with infertility issues. I would also like to accept the fact that it is important that religions of this world start embracing science and become flexible. ... view

  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. As the Member of Parliament for Molo, on my behalf and on behalf of the great people of Molo, the President‟s Speech was particularly moving when he decided to offer an apology for past wrongs. As Kenya is aware, my constituency has borne the brunt of tribal violence for the last 20 years, since 1992. People have lost lives and property to the tune of Kshs6.34 billion. I am also particularly thrilled by the fact that the President noted that it is difficult for the country, and for the Judiciary, to deal ... view
