  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. Since this is a House of records, I would like it to go on record that the reason I came over was to ensure the system was working. Earlier on the system was not working and since you advised us to put our hands up, I did not put mine up. When you did not pick me, I had no way of knowing that you had 30 people. I think it is not fair to have it on record that I was complaining while in fact it is the system that was not working. view

  • 29 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. At the outset, I would like to support this Report. I support it because as is clearly indicated, it is telling us what the Committee found. I support the two recommendations that have been raised because they are in line with what we see as observations. As I support these recommendations, particularly with regard to ensuring that we can invest in the infrastructure of KRA, looking at how they can better collect and account for all revenue and also looking at the human resource capacity, I want to really just place my support on ... view
  • 29 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: from the Departmental Committee on Culture, Sports and Tourism, I invite the Departmental Committee on Finance and Planning to have a recommendation that will seek to have a conversation. We need to model how we can break away from this culture that is truly at the heart. With those remarks, I support view
  • 9 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also rise to support the Petition. I am guided by the learned friends and Hon. Members, namely, Hon. Omulele and Hon. Millie. I also do it because, as a Member of the National Cohesion and Equality Committee, courtesy of your office, I had occasion to have a joint session with the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, the Committee on Implementation of the Constitution, Regional Integration and National Cohesion and the key concern that we jointly addressed is that, as parliamentarians, we need to look out to avoid any issues of marginalisation or anything that would look ... view
  • 19 May 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. At the outset, I would like to thank the Committee and acknowledge that not only listening to what they indicated and what is in the Report; I take this opportunity to indicate my support. We stand at a historic moment in our country. We are aware that Hon. Lady Justice would be the third Chief Justice in our country. As I support, I would like to indicate that what is coming out clearly is that leadership whether at the Judiciary or any other area is gender neutral. It seeks to look at competence and a ... view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Bill. I would like to start by thanking the Committee, leadership and all the colleagues who have contributed to this Bill. view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: As it has been indicated, this is a critical moment where I am particularly honoured to be a Member of the 12th Parliament after being nominated by the Orange Democratic Movement. I was nominated under the auspices of ensuring that we get the voice of those who are perceived to be marginalised. I know I am speaking to my colleagues in Parliament. I also know that as I talk, Kenyans are listening. Yesterday, we got a chance to honour a very respected Member of this Parliament who was the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: As I make my presentation here today, I would like to draw the attention of all Members of Parliament who acknowledged and honoured a great leader, politician and parliamentarian yesterday, to the fact that he put Kenya first. He had the sense to not only respect those with different opinions, but also to work with. I start by reminding all of us that when we are here, we are mortal beings. We are here for a while and we do not get the opportunity such that we have to be Members of Parliament at a critical constitutional moment to make ... view
  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: beings for just a certain period of time and that after a while, we are going to leave and we will be remembered for two things. We will be remembered for the problems we caused or for the problems that we solved. It is for this reason that from the onset, I support the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020. The promoters of the Bill seek to address issues arising from the implementation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. view
