  • 25 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for this opportunity. I rise to support this Motion. I want to thank hon. Patrick Wangamati, who is a respected Member of this House. He has a legacy as far as the Independence of Kenya is concerned. This compensation must start with him. I know he was tortured and his people were also tortured. This Motion has come at the right time. Some counties are celebrating because they were compensated. People from some parts of this country like West Pokot, Turkana and Samburu suffered, but because there was rudimentary reporting, it was not recorded. ... view
  • 25 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: One of the elders that suffered so much is the father of hon. Nickson Ngikor, who is here, Mzee Mekede. He suffered and lost most of his people to the British. My grandfather, Mr. Kokoi Lolel, also suffered. Up to now, I do not know where the British took his body. Hon. Wangamati knows the old man. The British Government has not brought him back and I am demanding that they should bring them or otherwise, I will provide an invoice to the British Government to compensate for that. Britain has now become like heaven just because of the resources that were taken from Africa and Kenya. It is now creating the European heaven. That is why if you go for a British visa, it is like going to heaven. It is very expensive and you are mistreated yet the materials that were used to build this ghost heaven are materials that were taken from Africa. So, it is not just claiming for compensation. The British Government should compensate for the land, culture and dignity. The current system ... view

  • 24 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I have just gone through the Order Paper of today. Order Nos. 9 and 10 talk about County Governments (Amendment) Bill from the Senate. Is it in order for us to discuss issues of the county governments yet our own business of CDF is unconstitutional? view
  • 24 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: We better put this business aside and discuss issues which are constitutional for us. These others are unconstitutional, hon. Speaker. • 18 Feb 2015 in National Assembly: President from (g) to (e) and, of course, we separate the former President from the former Prime Minister. I still propose the same. I propose that the former Vice-President and the former Deputy Presidents need to be brought at (f), so that they are above the hon. Members of Parliament. view
