  • 7 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. First of all, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Tetu, I wish to offer my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy following the loss of our beloved governor. I would say that while the loss of a loved one is never easy - even when anticipated - it is most painful. As other colleagues have said, we have lost two governors in one year. As people of Nyeri County and even the country at large, we are mourning. We have lost a visionary leader. I have lost a personal friend and the ... view

  • 15 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Fair Administrative Action Bill purposely for one reason. Within this capital city of Nairobi, we have realized that there are various demolitions of licensed businesses. You find that people come at night, demolish structures and in the early morning you find that the structures are not there and the materials have been taken away. This has been an awkward situation where the affected have not been given a single right to be heard. I support this Bill purposely because it states very clearly that there is room to redress ... view
  • 15 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Most of the administrative offices have been misusing their powers. You find that even in areas where land issues are concerned, very dubious dealings have been going on. People have lost their s hambas using dubious decisions. Some people are not aware that their title deeds have been changed and all of a sudden they find that they have been pushed out of their farms. Most of them are people who are not well off and cannot get redress to their situation. It is very painful to those people who are less fortunate. In the same area, these particular administrators ... view
  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to respond to the President‟s Address. In his Speech, the President emphasised on the value of national unity as clearly spelt out in Article 10 of the Constitution. It is important that this country re-looks at its history and addresses the issues affecting it. The President stressed that this country should not be divided by political parties. In order for the intended growth to be attained, this country should move as one. We should unite for the growth of our nation and other national achievements. On the economy, the President said ... view

  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: The President was very clear about the new gains that NYS are making, especially in Nairobi. We have witnessed the new face of the Kibera slums, where the NYS has done a good job of making sure that roads are passable. They have also undertaken some other good developments projects. The developments have also been witnessed in Mathare and Korogocho slums as well as in Mombasa and other parts of this country. That is a good project that the President and the Ministry of Devolution and Planning are undertaking. Another area where the President discussed in his Address is that ... view
