  • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: This one also deals with surrogacy where a woman can undertake to carry a baby for another woman who is unable to do so. Therefore, there is need for regulation so that the lady who agrees to surrogate knows the law and the fact that there are no changes after the baby is born.That is the import of the new clause. view

(1) The commissioning parent or parents, under the surrogacy agreement shall be the legal parent or parents of the child and not discriminate against the child.   • 24 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Again, the issue here is about surrogacy. There are parents who commission surrogacy and after the baby is born… In cases where there is a multiple pregnancy, the law will apply to all the babies that come under the agreement. That is what this new clause provides for. It is to protect parents in commissioning situations and to protect the babies that are born out of the commissioning. view

People may be tempted to say that, that is not the sex of the baby they wanted and, therefore, seek to terminate it.
