  • 3 Dec 2013 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not want to pursue this issue, but I am saying that this is how things go wrong. If you look at the Presidents who were elected in 1963, they were filled, in their minds, with all this power in the clouds and supremacy. They gave themselves titles, some of which were not biological, but are meant to be biological, like “the father of nation.” I think that we have a new start and Constitution. So, the President should be given the respect and honour, but do not give him titles that do not belong to ... view
  • 3 Dec 2013 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am sorry to come back to this, but if you do agree with Sen. Murkomen – and I also agree with him in entirety – what then would be the status of the provisional ruling in which you say it does not deal with counties per se ? Would it be vacated? view
  • 3 Dec 2013 in Senate: But, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am just worried that you are going to make a substantive ruling which may now turn to be in contradiction with a ruling that you have made. • 28 Nov 2013 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir, the only reason I will support where you have placed the Chief Justice is that, if he is a good Chief Justice; the less he is seen in the public, the better. view
  • 28 Nov 2013 in Senate: But he can appear on exceptional national days; but otherwise, the Chief Justice is better out of the way. view
  • 28 Nov 2013 in Senate: No; let me tell you; there have been instances where if the Chief Justice gets too much involved in the daily affairs of politics or even appearances, it can also get into the head of the Chief Justice, and he begins to imagine that sitting next to him is valuable in certain circumstances. Thank you, Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir. view
  • 28 Nov 2013 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir. Once a matter has been proposed by the Chair, you cannot withdraw it. It would be very bad practice that you bring a matter and you wait until it is proposed, and there may be some contrary views. We cannot assume that this decision is unanimous. I think the best thing to do, once a matter has been proposed, is to show whether we agree with it or not. This is not a Baraza; this is an honorable House. Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir, the reason why you go out of your ... view
