13 Oct 2020 in National Assembly:
Hon. Speaker, with those few remarks, I support the Report and thank Hon. Kaluma and Hon. Maanzo for dropping their amendments. Let us move forward and accept this Report as a Report of this House without any harmonization and barring. This is because we do not want to water down what has already been tabled in the House.

16 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Speaker for allowing me to speak before you. I was outside and I did not know I will enter the House. However, by God’s grace, I have. Thank you for allowing me to speak even thought I did not come with my card. I want to thank you for your sagacious ruling. It, indeed, has set a path for all of us. As you know, we are all creatures of political parties, including you, Hon. Speaker. There are very few Members of Parliament who are not creatures of political parties. I am a child of those political ...

16 Jun 2020 in National Assembly:
is because of my political party ODM and my party leader Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga. My party has made me to be heard in this Republic as Hon. Janet Ong’era. A political party is a tool that brings us to Parliament. When that party nominates you to serve in the respective positions which you come there by virtue of being a Member of that political party, it is expected that you also carry the wishes and aspirations of that political party. Therefore, when you find that there are many who do not carry those aspirations, the best thing is to ...

6 May 2020 in National Assembly:
We are dealing with a very serious matter. I want to give an example of my granddaughters. For the last two months, I have been sitting with them in the House. There is an element of depression that our children are getting into and nobody understands it. The way the Cabinet Secretary is behaving, he is treating us like his patients. As my brother, Hon. Junet said, this Minister does not seem to have a clue on how he should treat parents and teachers. He thinks we are patients. As to whether he was appointed by the President, there is ...

4 May 2020 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to make my contribution to the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020. I support the Bill. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for making a very wise and sagacious ruling that this is a popular decision and must go to the people. As one of the promoters of this Bill, I am very happy that you made such a ruling. There are many good things in this Bill. In this constitutional moment, Kenya is going through the greater good that exceeds the lesser evil. This constitutional ...

4 May 2020 in National Assembly:
speak about a constitutional moment we must be alive to the things that we need to look at. We should be able to leave a good legacy that people will remember us for as legislators. I agree that we needed, perhaps, to have consulted IEBC on developing this schedule for the constituencies. This is so that we do not seem like on the one hand, we are breaking the current Constitution that we want to amend and, on the other hand, we think we are making another right. About the doctrine of separation of powers, it is actually about separation ...
