  • 24 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I would like to add and say that dramatic works are so obvious. It is works such as play, radio or television scripts. It is even choreographing and pantomimes, which are accompanied by music. Because copyright has a lifespan of up to 50 years after your death, if it could be proven that a dance like the Isukuti Dance belongs to a particular person and the movements of that dance, that is part of drama. We can break it down and say that words are the poetry, the actual musical instrument is the music ... view

  • 7 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to express my sincere condolences to all the persons that have perished in a tragic crash that took place two days ago. In as much as we point fingers to the disaster management of this country, we must ask ourselves some pertinent questions. We see a lot of airlines being registered in this country. • 26 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: The reason for this proposed amendment is that it may comply with Section 181(1)(a) of the Penal Code which states that: “(a) for the purpose of or by way of trade or for the purpose of distribution or public exhibition, makes, produces or has in his possession any one or more obscene writings, drawings, prints, paintings, printed matter, pictures, posters, emblems, photographs, cinematograph films or any other obscene objects, or any other object tending to corrupt morals;...” view
  • 26 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Furthermore, it is important that this clause is inserted because it touches on pornography. We cannot say enough about the dangers of pornography and what it does to human dignity. But most important of all, human dignity is a value that is enshrined and captured in Article 10 of the Constitution of Kenya. Pornography, not only child pornography, debases human dignity and human interactions. view
  • 26 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: In the most modern western countries of this world, access to pornography is regulated. In the United Kingdom, you cannot simply pick up a phone and access pornography. Indeed, if you are an adult, you need to request your Internet Service Provider (ISP) server to allow you to access it. In this country, for any tablet, phone and any child who is able to use a telecommunication gadget can access pornography, hence the justification for this amendment. view
