I had to fight with the Leader of the Minority Party so that the Petition is not interfered with because I was concerned that it was affecting Kakamega Town. The relocation of campuses by the leadership of many universities has been rampant. We lost Ebunangwe Campus, and that affected the economy of that area in a big way. I am sure that the loss of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Campus will affect the area. I support the Petition. view
• 15 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I join the rest of the Members in supporting this Bill, the National Disaster Management Authority Bill. It is a Bill that wants to consolidate the issues of disaster into one unit – an Authority which will coordinate all the agencies which deal with disasters in the country. We will have a centralised point, a command center where issues of disaster can be managed from both the levels of research, predictability of disaster and even handling of the same disaster. Last time I was being challenged for being number one, but today I wanted to ask that the Leader of the Majority Party elaborates what this challenge is all about. I and maybe a few of us do not know what you are doing and we could also be talented. I do not know if it is a talent show or whatever it is, so that we are all involved in this thing. • 1 Oct 2020 in National Assembly: Auditor-General. One time I interacted with that Report closely because there were delays in payment of workers’ salaries and that is why I got concerned. The issues he raised are issues that need to be attended to. Some of them that were in the Report include, among other things, the fact that unidentified users were able to use the system. • 29 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Last Friday or thereabout when we were dealing with the issue of dissolving Parliament, one of the Hon. Members, I think Roozah Buyu, stood and I am on the record of this House asking how she got to that institution, how it ranked her and why. I was questioning this ranking. Previously, I have been ranked number 339. I was ranked position eight some other time. I was also ranked number one in Vihiga County. After questioning the ranking last Friday, I found that I was ranked position one. view

They said that we have to standardise these institutions and regulate them so that if any work comes from them, it is standardised, acceptable and for everybody.
