  • 22 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: of KeRRA and the NGCDF, which are under me in my constituency, I have seen a lot of social impact in my people. Even as I look forward to the Budget, I have just received a message from my constituency talking about Metava Road which we have tarmacked and the fact that it has enabled many children to attend school. I do not see why Members of Parliament are proud of some developments in their constituencies. In Kibwezi Constituency, we do not even have a single centimeter of tarmac road. I held demonstrations and three tear ganisters were thrown at ... view
  • 22 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Government can all do their bits, we can develop this country. Let us not compete for resources that are not ours. We should deliver resources to the right people. The Kibwezi-Kitui Road needs to be attended to as soon as possible. With those few remarks, I support. view
  • 5 May 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Nuh, do you want to withdraw your statement or you just want to be on record? view
  • 5 May 2016 in National Assembly: Member for Muhoroni, if you have no business in the House, please; walk out quietly. view
  • 4 May 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I beg to report to the House that pursuant to Standing Order No.35(2)(b), the House has failed to realise the requisite quorum. view
  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I support the appointment of Members to various Committees and to the Budget and Appropriations Committee. As a Member of Parliament and the representative of the people of Kibwezi, I know the importance of Committees. We have undergone various problems in the past three months in the budget-making process. I support the appointment of Members to various Committees. However, I note that the re-constitution is not very inclusive. view
  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Most of the Members of the CORD Coalition who were part and parcel of the previous Budget and Appropriations Committee have not been included. As a House, we rejected the membership of the Budget and Appropriations Committee. That is not the membership of the Committee that we want to be re-constituted. I appreciate the ability of Members who have been selected to the Budget and Appropriations Committee. The Committee will work well in the budget-making process. We know the importance of the Committee in this House. For the sake of this country and that of the budget-making process, Members of ... view
  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, as we constitute the Budget and Appropriations Committee, it is important that we give our best for posterity. I appreciate the Members who have been given the chance to serve in the Budget and Appropriations Committee. They are capable of performing their mandate and help this House in the budget-making process. They will give their input and ensure that we get the best as per the Standing Orders, which gives them the parameters within which to operate. All said and done, we need the Committee. From my observation, with all due respect, I feel that we should have ... view
  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I beg to report that the Committee of the whole House has considered the Judiciary Fund Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 3 of 2016) and approved the same without amendments. view
  • 28 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I wish to support the amendment by the Chair in Clause 22. When it comes to the fine, I agree with the Chair on the figure of not less than Kshs500,000. This time I disagree with the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee. Less than Kshs500,000 would mean that it can even be Kshs.10,000. I do support the amendment by the Chair on Clause 22. view
