11 Oct 2017 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me a chance to contribute to this Motion. First, I arise to support but with some comments. Initially, the National Treasury had proposed to reduce the budget for Senate and the National Assembly by almost Kshs7 billion. When we establish the Budget and Appropriations Committee, it should tell the National Treasury very clearly not to interfere with our budget. That is the independence we earned through hard work. How can they reduce our hard work? How can they reduce our budget by Kshs7 billion yet they are increasing the National Treasury’s budget ...

10 Oct 2017 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me a chance to contribute to this important Motion. The Supreme Court ruled that our votes did not make any sense on 8th August 2017 and that we must repeat the polls. It also ruled that those elections will be conducted by IEBC as it is today. I saw members of the Opposition rejoicing and dancing in town. I saw that leader with grandchildren dancing in town because of the judgement which had been made in his favour. I am surprised. Apparently, he never accepted the entire judgement which said that the presidential elections ...

be embarrassed. Instead of receiving 6 million votes, he will receive one million votes from Nyanza. That is why he may want to withdraw. I sympathise with him. Has he withdrawn? If he has withdrawn, he has withdrawn with reasons. He has realised that he is going to garner very few votes. But why should he put Kenyans into violence? He seems not to mind. Yesterday, some three people who were demonstrating were knocked down by a vehicle. One person was shot in the foot. He does not care and does not feel sympathy for those people who are suffering ...

the election again. We do not want to go in that direction. We need to correct the irregularities and make laws which will make it impossible for people to make those irregularities and illegalities an issue; in which case, the elections that we will hold on 26th October will be free, fair, democratic and transparent. With those remarks, I beg to support the Bill.

28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion. I support it for the sake of this country. I am surprised that my friend there Hon. Chris Wamalwa and the spokesman for Baba are opposing this Motion. They are the ones who went to court claiming that the electronic system was hacked. We want to correct that situation so that they do not complain and so that nobody hacks. And they will have their agents in every polling station in the country and in every tallying centre and will escort the ballot papers to the national tallying centre. ...

28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly:
The Motion only seeks to avail the Bill to Kenyans who might be interested in discussing it, by giving them time to discuss it. In the case of an ad hoc Committee, we are doing it simply because my friend Hon. Junet has not advised his boss to allow his party to participate in the formation of committees. They are the ones who have not presented their names. We cannot hold this House hostage because of the whims of one or two people in this country. This House must rise up and represent the people who have elected us and ...
