My Chairman is hosting the President in his constituency today but after this, I will meet with him in Meru and pass the same information to him. If the Report can be scheduled to be adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, then maybe it can be tabled by Wednesday next week. view

To the extent that land acquisition is mainly for infrastructural projects, that will not only utilise a lot of public funds but also have a major effect on our economy. We must have more strict laws to guard against abuse of the process of land acquisition by those agencies concerned. To that extent, I support this amendment. view

  • 1 Dec 2016 in National Assembly: refused with them. This begs the question how the Chairman of NLC came to the conclusion that the land in question actually belonged to Mombasa Cement? It is clear that the NLC Vice-Chair who had initially been tasked to investigate these documents and submit a report to the Committee was irregularly removed from that task and it was given to junior officer, Mr. Cyrus Kiogora Mburugu.   • 1 Dec 2016 in National Assembly: Mr. Munga Njanji, a former councillor of the area, and the former chief of Mbambani, should also be investigated as the people who facilitated the squatters who had been settled in Mbambani Settlement Scheme. The investigation should attempt to reveal how the two accessed the allotment letters of the squarters and took them to the directors of Mombasa Cement Company, who bought them at a throw away price and annexed the land that was meant for the squatters.
