  • 23 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: pastoralists’ students, so that they can get the benefit of having KNLS in the country. Now that I have mentioned that, I hope it will reach to the people concerned. Let me talk about the importance of having libraries in every county. Hon. Speaker, knowledge is power. There is an hon. Member who has said that there was a child who was asked who is President of the Republic of Kenya and he replied that it is Hon. William Samoei Ruto, and we all laughed. Actually, that is what is in some people’s minds. Some people do not know some ... view

  • 16 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I was the victim of that and we thank the Government for the steps it took. At least now, Kapedo and the surrounding areas are at peace. Hon. Speaker, we are not happy that the people of Tiaty are not getting food. They are Kenyans like us. The Turkana people are friendly to them. Those who have ran away from the operation have gone to Turkana South with their cows and everything, including guns. We are not enemies not to accommodate our neigbours but, our neighbours must leave their guns behind. That is the only problem ... view
  • 16 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: host his people as much as we can but, please, guns are the enemy to all of us, including himself. Those guys do not care whether you are driving a big vehicle or on a flight. We were in that convoy in which the Deputy Director of Operations was killed. Thank God we were only five minutes late. We could have died that day. Those guys care less about your uniform or whatever. We do not blame Hon. Kamket for that. Those guys are robbers. The Government must deal with them seriously so that we can eliminate the stealing of ... view
  • 16 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support this Motion. The policies that we had sometimes back are now outdated. For us to conserve our wild animals and for tourism to give us good revenue in this country, we need to see how we can co-exist as people with the wild animals so that we can benefit from them. There is an issue I want to raise which has become a burden to this country. This is the issue of compensation. Whenever wild animals kill a person or destroy property, it takes many years before the compensation is ... view
  • 9 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, you have made a ruling that has surpassed the ones made by former Speaker, Hon. Marende. You will go into the history of this country as having given direction to this House. We are here to serve the people who elected us. We are privileged to be here. We decided to go to political parties to get tickets so that we can come here. We respect the Political Parties Act. However, there is a place where you cannot remove a privilege from a Member to represent his people in a committee, where you generate the agenda for the ... view
  • 14 Apr 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Mine is just a concern. We are wearing different types of masks and I wonder if all of them have been approved by the medical fraternity or we are just putting them on. Kindly, if you can advise on the type of mask we should put on, the better. Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 5 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity. First, I would like to appreciate the way we have dealt with this Business Law (Amendment) Bill, National Assembly Bill No. 80 of 2019 because the Chairs of the Committees have already presented their views and proposals. The Chairs of the Committees are representatives of the people and whenever they come up with such views, it gives favour to every Bill. I am happy that public participation was done. Members of the public should contribute their views towards this Bill because this law will affect generations to come. Therefore, ... view
  • 5 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: These laws will provide qualitative indicators of regulation for starting or doing business in Kenya. His Excellency the President has been saying, “Buy Kenya, Build Kenya.” For us as a nation to grow in business we must encourage local investors to do business in a level that can enable them to compete with other international investors. The reason we have this law is so that we can protect minority investors who are upcoming entrepreneurs in this country. And that is why we are saying this law must protect the minority investors so that they too can be encouraged to do ... view
  • 5 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, this law will help us to register our businesses so that one can have legal documents that would enable one do business in this country as of right. That will apply even if one is a foreigner. The by-laws will moderate the playing ground so that everybody can do business. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the proposed by-laws measure the future of employed workers. When we increase businesses in this country, we also increase the number of employees. We need to create more businesses in this country so that those unemployed youths who have no jobs in ... view
