  • 23 Jul 2014 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. This question is very urgent in light of what we have been reading in the papers; that some County Assemblies have been paying MCAs a lot of money. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 23 Jul 2014 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker Sir, this Committee should respond to this question so that we see how the Senate will assist the counties. Could they bring an answer as soon as possible, probably tomorrow? view
  • 16 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, first, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for standing with me when I had a challenge. Three years ago, the then Prime Minister announced that people in the North Rift will not pay fees due to drought. Due to this, students refused to pay fees and there was no money from the Government. I am hoping that after the announcement, payments have to be made to schools because books and everything else required in school must be paid for. We should not paralyze our schools. Instead, we should enable our education system ... view
  • 16 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Speaker, I would like to seek further clarifications. On two occasions this year, live on our television, we saw security officers working for the KWS shedding tears and crying next to dead elephants. Could the Chairman clarify what scenario was being shown to Kenyans? Officers who are supposed to be protecting animals are very helpless. What is the missing link that can lead to the scenario where the protector, with a gun, would cry? view
  • 16 Jul 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Speaker. Would I be in order to say that we are debating an issue that we do not even have a document to refer to? As you rightfully ruled earlier, there is an illegal document that should be replaced and a proper one brought. Every Member should also get a copy of the same so that Kakamega does not appear as if it has a shortage of support. Other counties also have the same problems. Would I be in order to say that? view
  • 26 Jun 2014 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare concerning the management of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization which has been undergoing challenges. In the Statement, I would like the Chairperson to:- (1) Explain whether he is aware that the organization is planning to hold its elections in July 2014. (2) State whether he is aware that the organization has increased membership fees from Kshs100 and that those wishing to vie for various positions in the organization for the following categories are required to pay as ... view
  • 26 Jun 2014 in Senate: It is Sen. Madzayo. view
  • 26 Jun 2014 in Senate: Could you give us a day? view
  • 26 Jun 2014 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the question is a bit urgent. There is a possibility that the elections will be held on Tuesday, so I would rather he gives us the answer on Tuesday next week. view
  • 26 Jun 2014 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the two statements were supposed to be responded to today as you have rightfully put. But I am surprised that the chairperson is not in, particularly for the last one because of the insecurity situation that my people are facing along the border of the two counties. Can we go and look for him? view
