I also take this opportunity to congratulate the EALA elected Members, in particular the youthful nominees Kennedy Musyoka, Winnie Odinga and the golden boy, Maina Mwangi Karobia. I congratulate them and tell them to represent the young people of this nation at the EALA. I also congratulate Kanini Kega and Suleiman Shahbal from the Azimio side. From the Kenya Kwanza side, I congratulate Hassan Omar, David Sankok and Kering and wish them the very best. To the other nominees who did not make it, you are also winners. We saw your determination when you were campaigning. ... view
  • 16 Nov 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon Speaker. As I appreciate the response that has been given through the Leader of the Majority Party – although I was reading his body language and he was reading a response from the Ministry that he was not convinced with – there is something that bothers me. • 16 Nov 2022 in National Assembly: interested in releasing the NG-CDF. The reason I say so is because if the order that the court gave – assuming what was served to the Treasury was for the CDF Act, 2013. It is clear that the same people who challenged the CDF Act 2013 went to court to challenge the NG-CDF Act 2015. That is an admission by the petitioners that the NG-CDF Act 2015 has not been ruled on by the court. So, what is this opinion that they are seeking from the Attorney-General? I am not a lawyer, but it sounds so clear to me that ... view

  • 15 Nov 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I appreciate the communication from Hon. Deputy Speaker who also leads the Liaison Committee. I was expecting to hear from her when the Liaison Committee will conduct induction so that we can start work. As a committee, we wanted to start our activities and were advised there is need for the Liaison Committee to first hold induction for Members who have never been chairpersons and lack experience in some of these activities. Some chairpersons are coming in for the first time in their entire lives and others are first-time Members of Parliament. When will this ... view

  • 26 Oct 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I congratulate my friend, Hon. Aden Bare Duale. Many people have not understood the relationship I have had with him. Most of the time, apart from the time we came in as first term Members, we have been on opposite sides of the political divide, but our friendship has flourished. Just to mention a few things; even though Hon. Duale is six years older than me, we are political agemates. We came to Parliament the same day, and it did not take us a year before we became friends and, we have maintained our friendship to ... view

  • 26 Oct 2022 in National Assembly: I remember when he was an Assistant Minister in the 10th Parliament, I was a backbencher. When I became an Assistant Minister, he became a backbencher. When Jubilee won elections in 2013, Hon. Duale became the Leader of the Majority Party. My documents then, were literally thrown out of my office, the then Office of the Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister. When the handshake came, I thought we were going to work together with him as the Leader of Majority Party and I, as the Leader of the Minority Party. Again, it did not take long ... view
  • 26 Oct 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, it is such a coincidence that I have just approved him as a Cabinet Secretary. In 2027, I am likely to have a rising political star; maybe, I need to pray for you to remain where you are or even go higher. We have had a good working relationship, and have had an admirable work ethics. Hon. Duale, I want to ask you to continue with your consultative nature of leadership. I worked with you, and Hon. Kimunya as Leaders of the Majority Party and you were better than him in matters consultation, and that I can say ... view
