  • 4 Oct 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I did not want to interrupt my good colleague, Hon. Didmus Barasa. Hon. Speaker, is it in order for the Member to impute improper motive on the membership of this House, and especially from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party by insinuating that TJ Kajwang’ misled a whole lot of us? We who have gone to school and properly? He should withdraw that remark and apologise. Someone like me who has gone to school, and has done so properly, cannot be misled by TJ Kajwang’. view
  • 4 Oct 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, it is completely out of order to misrepresent facts. On the issue of PAC and PIC, we decided on our own that it will be chaired by a party or coalition of parties which does not form the national Government. There is no mention of majority or minority parties. view

  • 8 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to support this Motion that we have Parliament sit tomorrow although I am a bit engaged. Unfortunately, I will not be there tomorrow to contribute. I, therefore, want to take advantage of this time. Probably, this could be the last time I am speaking on the Floor of this House, at least for the next five years. I am not sure if after that I will want to come back again. It has been an eventful career for me. I have enjoyed the 15 years that the great people of Suba South have ... view
  • 8 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to second the Motion by the Leader of the Majority Party. Even though in the morning I said I did not think I would get an opportunity to speak on the Floor of this House again, God had His own plans. That is why we should always leave our lives to God to dictate. Otherwise, the thinking of a human being is different from the way the Almighty thinks. It is simple. We should have an extension of sitting time today, so that some of the business we have before us is dealt with ... view
  • 19 May 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. As much as I appreciate the point of order raised by Hon. Duale, he cannot raise it retrospectively on a matter that has already been dealt with. Unless Hon. Duale is raising a point of order on Quorum from now, then that makes sense. If he is asking for Quorum on what we have voted on, then it is a fait accompli. How I wish Hon. Duale allowed us to proceed. We know the circumstances and we will continue to debate. If anything, debaters are here. view
  • 19 May 2022 in National Assembly: Debaters are here. He has taken advantage to canvass on so many issues without that Quorum. Now that he is done, he does not want the rest of us to contribute. That is unfair. view
  • 6 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, mine is a small one. I think we are being unfair to Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah. Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah is preparing to be the Leader of the Minority Party, being in the opposition. He has to practise it now. So, let us allow him the latitude. view
  • 6 Apr 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I am not going to be a Governor. I have accepted. Allow Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah to practise being in the opposition. This is the time. view
  • 9 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to support this Petition by Hon. Sossion and I congratulate him for representing teachers very well. Teaching is a noble profession, as we have always said. Any society that does not invest in education is a society that does not progress at all. The way we handle and treat our teachers is very important. I advise and urge that when the Committee looks at this matter, there are issues that need to be looked into, which may require even budgetary allocation by this House. So, if there is need for budgetary allocation, the ... view
