Sankok that we need transparency in any electoral process, it would also be in order so that we avoid any doubts around these elections because it takes a lot of time, to whip Members to be here. I am rising on two things: First, we have our clerks, and there is some voting that has already taken place. Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, this amendment must be opposed and defeated by Hon. Members. Anyone wishing to form a party in this country must be clear on the ideology and principles of that party. That is the problem we have been having. People form briefcase political parties without even thinking what they stand for. I oppose and ask all Hon. Members that this is something we must defeat.

The two issues that Hon. Murugara has raised touch on the Constitution. I want to address myself to them. First, the current existing law refers to a definition of a political party as having been founded under Article 260 of the Constitution.
