• 23 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order hon. Deputy Speaker. In this House, we have complained in the past of Chairs who are not answering or bringing Statements. Remember that, yesterday, the Speaker made a ruling on this. We should apply the rules both ways. If a Member who has sought a Statement, it is listed for answering and he or she deliberately absents himself or herself from the House, I think that Statement should be dropped. That will instill discipline in the House. view

The House needs to understand, the increase of penalty for those who lodge fraudulent claims from two to five times. Having consulted with the Committee, we agreed that at this point, it is not right to bring amendments on administrative procedures; therefore I support the proposed amendments. view
