Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister said that they will have only two oncology centres. He has not taken cognizance of the fact that we passed a Bill just this week on free cancer treatment. He has not taken cognizance of the fact that there are 28,000 cases per annum. Because of us abusing aflatoxins, GMOs and other stuff, we are likely to have, maybe – and God forbid – excess of 280,000 patients. The two centres are not adequate. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I concur with the Assistant Minister’s answer. One of the principal causes of cancer in this country is cancer associated with change of genes. You heard the Assistant Minister mention GMO. This means reconstruction of DNA to that type that is favourable to the plant breeder. When are they going to ban GMO because the potential causes of cancer in this country--- We know that, that DNA changes are listed as the major causes of cancer.

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, in the answer, the Assistant Minister has put it that what causes cancer are genes and the DNA. My understanding is that, there is interference with DNA. Genetically Modified-Organisms interfere with DNA and may cause cancer. To what extent do you plan to ban potential GMOs that can cause cancer?
