  • 1 Sep 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have waited for so long. It is because of my community background that is loyal and obedient. That expresses a lot of patience. I rise to support this Motion. I support it on several grounds. When I look back at the previous engagements with the British training, particularly in the three counties of Laikipia, Samburu and Isiolo, they have been very much beneficial, apart from the huge occupancy of community land, which is particularly in Lesesia. Lesesia happens to be in Samburu County. It is the community that is mostly affected. Those were ... view
  • 1 Sep 2016 in National Assembly: four army barracks. There is a school of artillery, school of infantry, school of combat engineers and 78 Tank Battalion. Those four army barracks have given us a lot of peace and harmony because there is very little in terms of external effects to the population. I support this process because it is a long-term engagement, unlike the previous one, which was on a six-month renewal basis. This one will provide a lot of engagement, whether through the government-to-government partnership or to the local people. This will help us to realize a harmonious co-existence with the local communities, if all ... view
  • 1 Sep 2016 in National Assembly: boosts the economy in Igembe North and South where my friend, Hon. Iringo, comes from. I support this agreement. view
  • 18 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. It clearly states the different classes of public roads and puts to rest the confusion between county and national governments. It also defines the responsibilities and functions of different roads authorities. As a member of this Committee, the most difficult part was to find the balance between the financial provisions of the two levels of government. Now the Bill has gone through. I support it. Thank you. view
  • 17 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to add my voice to this Bill. Opening up of the mausoleum to the public will enhance the revenue base, as Hon. Ali has said. A visit to the premise will excite most visitors, local and foreign and even children who have learnt the history of our nation since its inception to date. The children of our former colonial masters may also want to come and see the history of how Kenya attained its Independence and progress to date. This will enrich our identity externally by allowing many to ... view
  • 17 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: What our founding father said and did, and what he believed in was written in his book, view
  • 17 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: , just like Mheshimiwa had earlier alluded to. The political and social lives and all that he believed in are very important. It will enrich the local understanding of what Kenya was, and what it is today. I was born on 22nd August 1978, the day our founding father passed on. As I celebrate my birthday, we also celebrate his death as our hero. I support this Bill. I hope it will be accommodated by all Members to give it the value it requires. view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to add my voice on the President’s Address. Looking at national security, I agree with the President that a lot has been achieved. The North Rift peace initiative was a noble idea and a good gesture to the pastoralist communities though more effort needs to be put in supporting the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to foster unity in the diversity of Kenyans and across the ethnic divide. That Commission has done a lot and we need to invest in a lot of resources that will help to calm this country as ... view
  • 14 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: going to give space to people who are going to participate in the automobile sector for instance because we require them. Everybody in huge cities now has two to three vehicles. The housing infrastructure will require masons and welders and many other sectors, including the textile industry. When the President talked about tea and coffee, I expected him to talk about any initiative to support pastoralism, but he did not. There was very little to do with pastoralists but I believe there must be initiatives to see how we can revitalise the pastoralist industry. There is a lot of investment ... view
  • 24 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Division of Revenue Bill. I know it holds the fate of what happens next in the next 12 months. What is of interest to me and Members from the 14 counties is the Equalisation Fund. I know this is something before the Senate. I want to believe that once it is resolved, it is something that we need to come up with regulation and ensure that the Kshs6 billion allocated to this Fund is going to be realised and do the right thing. This is a constitutional issue which ... view
