  • 24 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: It is high time we realised the physical projects like what we see in the CDF and implementation of the county projects. A lot of promises have been made to Kenyans as pronounced in the Jubilee Party Manifesto which needs to be realised in this Budget. We are going to the final year of elections and a lot has not been done in terms of realisation of the one million irrigation project and the laptop project. I know it is there. I can see Kshs17 billion has been allocated. This needs to be implemented. We also need to fast track ... view
  • 24 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: We need to come up with adequate measures to reduce wastages at all levels of governance; national and county level. For instance, looking at the health services which are becoming cancerous we see a disgruntled personnel, nepotism and insufficiency in terms of allocation of resources. We need to revamp the health sector. When we see drugs missing in quite a number of these facilities, we see a situation whereby we will continue having a very sick society. Dispensaries have no drugs and adequate personnel and this is something which needs to be carefully scrutinized as a devolved function. view
  • 24 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: Finally, I have seen allocation for strategic grain reserves. This to me is going to be a stop gap measure as we await realization of implementation of irrigation programmes earmarked this Financial Year. It is something we need to go for so as to ensure that we have a very good and reliable food basket in our country. We need to fast track many projects particularly in the northern part of Kenya. A lot has been said and planned and we are still yet to see the outcome. view

  • 14 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I have waited for a long time to be given an opportunity to contribute. I want to take this opportunity to pass my condolences to all the aggrieved families that lost their loved ones in this heinous act. It is very unfortunate that we continue losing lives knowingly. There were alert messages and we have an intelligence unit that is well placed internationally. The security had prior information even before any impending attack that led to the loss of innocent lives. This calls for action. We are doing badly locally. We need to take a drastic ... view

  • 14 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Insecurity is almost everywhere and lives have been lost in most parts of Kenya. Lives have been lost in Turkana. Even the other day, four people lost their lives. People are losing lives every day in West Pokot, Samburu and many other parts in the northern part of Kenya. There is the need to have a national obligation. This is not a tradition--- view
  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, protect me from hon. ole Sakuda here. I want to join my colleagues in commending the good work done by the President on Thursday. His State of the Nation Address is something worth emulating by all leadership. Similar pronouncements need to be done at all levels of governance from our areas of jurisdiction. We expect such things to happen even at the ward, constituency and the county levels .This is a good gesture. We still have a lot to be done because we have a country that requires the kind ... view

  • 1 Apr 2015 in National Assembly: The President‟s Address has created a lot of positive excitement to the wider public. It has provided an opportunity for the voiceless also to air their grievances without fear. This House needs to exercise its oversight responsibilities to save Kenyans from the meagre resources that are intended to improve livelihoods, but which do not go to the right places; such resources have been going to waste. The priorities and aspirations of Kenyans must be seen in the appropriation of public funds. This should be at both the national level and the county level. We need to see a reflection of ... view
