  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity. I want to support this Motion for one reason. My constituency, which is Kajiado North, is just next to Nairobi. I am glad about what we have been observing all along. In my constituency, especially with regard to vehicles operating between Nairobi and OngataRongai, we experience the same thing that the rest of us experienced this morning every day. view
  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Traffic management in this country is an issue. The problem of traffic jams has gone on all along without being managed. It is unfortunate that we only let police officers try to control traffic in this country when we know very well that the State is supposed to manage road traffic in a better manner. My constituency has only two outlets. If we have to manage traffic jams in Nairobi, then we have to expand the road from Nairobi to OngataRongai and the one from Nairobi to Ngong, so that we can open up the way from Nairobi to its ... view
  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: As we know, the peripheral areas of all capital cities in the world are growing areas. Kajiado County has to grow. The entrance to Kajiado is through OngataRongai. So, I would like the Government to take this as affirmative action and see whether they can make a dual carriage way from the Bomas of Kenya to OngataRongai, Kiserian and Ngong, and back to Nairobi; so that people can travel quickly. This will enable hon. Members of Parliament going to eat nyamachoma and look for plots in Kajiado County to access the county. I want to report that many hon. Members ... view
  • 5 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I stand guided. I wanted to tell hon. Members that the people of Rongai experience what they experienced this morning on a daily basis. Today, I would take about two hours to travel from my county to Nairobi. In normal circumstances, I normally take 15 minutes. So, there has to be proper management of public transport in this city of Nairobi. If you are moving from here to Nyayo Stadium, you are likely to take an hour or 30 minutes. That is a distance that should be covered within five minutes. In other capital cities of ... view
  • 19 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me the chance to contribute to this noble Bill by the Chairman of TNA. The proposed amendments seek to give a legal framework to the county governments and the national Government to accommodate the youth, women and people with disabilities in the procurement process. Many of our youths are not employed. When our youth complete education and are not engaged, they get frustrated and indulge in various activities like alcoholism, thuggery and other bad things. By making sure that they get procurement business, we will be mitigating this aspect. Hon. Deputy Speaker, it ... view
  • 12 Feb 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, for giving me this chance. I want to take this opportunity also to support the Motion, maybe with amendments, if possible. I found that when you get little time, it is not enough for you to express yourself. In a previous sitting, we reduced the time to one minute. If you are given one minute to articulate what you have researched for quite a long time, that becomes very unfair to you. I thought it could have been better, just as the way the Member from Mbeere had said, for the Mover to get at least ... view
  • 25 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, when the Member on the Floor was contributing, he referred to hon. Nkaissery as a sycophant. Hon. Nkaissery wanted a clarification made by the hon. Member but the hon. Member went ahead and used un- parliamentary language. Is he in order? view
  • 17 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion. This Motion is very dear to me because my constituency which just next to Nairobi shares the same problems with Nairobi City. The material and the garbage is part of the problems that I am facing in Kajiado North. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, when I was elected the Member of Parliament for Kajiado North, I realized that one of the issues that I was going to face is a lot of garbage in my constituency; especially from Ngong Town and Ongata Rongai ... view
  • 27 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. We take drugs with a lot of seriousness in this country. I want to let this House know that I am very serious on drugs view
