  • 11 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: I was discussing with Hon. David ole Sankok about this Bill and he assured me that we need to start supporting the people of the Coast region by giving them seedlings in order to help them improve, instead of selling the narrative of wheelbarrows. He is in my support. We also need to talk to the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture to support the people of the Coast region. In addition, the Government, as a whole, and Members of Parliament, need to educate our people about this crop on how to promote our economy. I thank you. I support. view
  • 24 Nov 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to support this Report. As I support the Report, I am a disappointed man. In fact, as a country, we are killing the spirit of our youth. When we talk of those stadia in almost all the counties, we have a challenge. It is important to consider our youth because we know that majority of Kenyans are the youth. As my colleagues have said, the Government has not yet fulfilled most of the promises it made to Kenyans. I want to give an example of Wote Stadium in my ... view
  • 10 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I want to bring to your attention and the attention of the Members of this House that we lost a former Member for Kaiti, Gervaise Maingi, who served this country from 1988 to 2000. He was the Member for Kaiti Constituency, which was Kilome Constituency then. I was of the request… view

  • 10 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, he served from 1988 to 1992. I want to condole with the family and the people of Kaiti who are mourning. It is my request through your directive that we have a moment of silence to condole with the people of Kaiti and the family at large because he was a leader who served his constituents for five years. He contributed to the development of Kaiti Constituency until he lost the seat. I remember then, he served the people of Kaiti and they also remember his development agenda that were taken over by former Members. I am currently ... view

  • 16 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me the opportunity to ask this question to the Cabinet Secretary for Energy: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide the number of public schools in Kaiti Constituency that are yet to be connected with electricity? (ii) When will the said schools be connected? (iii) Could the Cabinet Secretary confirm the number of customers within a radius of 600 metres from the nearest power transformer that are yet to be connected under the Last-Mile Connectivity Programme in Kaiti Constituency? view

  • 4 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this important Bill. I am a Member of the Committee. I am happy with this Bill because we have been having a lot of challenges in the advertising industry, especially on the issue of licensing. In fact, the challenge we are facing is that some organisations take you round in circles when you apply for a licence for adverts. With this Bill, we deliberated and discussed more about it and agreed to come to the central point whereby if you want to advertise and you have ... view
  • 4 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: you find that they have been pulled down and someone has put another billboard there. So, this Bill will solve the challenges that we face with regard to outdoor advertising. We want to put in place a good legal framework to ensure that there will be laws to be followed and make sure that all organisations respect the laws. We have another challenge where one is required to get a licence from the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), county government, the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA), and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) when doing business. That is one thing ... view
