  • 30 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to air my views. I want to support the Motion. I want to join my colleagues in stating that it is the right time for us to proceed on recess and carry out some projects. I am a member of the NG-CDF Committee and I want to confirm that the CS has disbursed some funds that will enable us do some work while on recess. We want to ask the CS to continue in the same trend to keep the promise of disbursing Kshs2 billion in a week so that our ... view
  • 25 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for the opportunity to air my views on the Value Added Tax (Digital Market Place Supply) Regulations 2020. The VAT is an instrument that helps the Government to collect funds and it has not been very efficient. You find that there are some amounts that are not even remitted because they have not been added to the iTax. Therefore, the digital addition will rope in those who have been evading taxes, and are many. Some importers, especially international ones, do not even have the iTax systems. They are not included yet they ... view

  • 25 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: So, this will help us have a level playing ground that all of us pay taxes and compete in the market place. I support this Motion and the Government should hasten to implement it, so that we can get revenue for all the things that are imported into this country. With those remarks, I support. view
  • 23 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for this opportunity. I would like to air my views on the Kenya National Library Service Bill. First, I would like to say that we have forgotten the reading culture which the old people had already adopted. Things have changed. The digital era has come and it has brought a lot of changes, especially to the young people. You will find that some are not very keen on reading books. They want to read through their computers. They want to read from the internet. Therefore, they are not willing to read. They should be ... view

  • 23 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: they can pick a few books and read for themselves and keep themselves busy. They can then forget about the laziness that some have put themselves in. I have seen a lot of interest amongst the youth who use their phones and laptops at the ICT centres to read, apply for jobs and sit for exams. We should have libraries for non-school going persons rather than what we have in schools that are not accessible to them. A library that will be open for all would encourage people to read and make them happy and busy. In conclusion, I support ... view

  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to air my views on this important Bill. It is, indeed, a very important Bill and has come at a good time. Revenue collection is a challenge especially in our counties. The eight years of devolution should have been a learning moment for counties with regarding to systems of collecting revenue, which ought to be ready by now. It is so that all the loopholes are sealed for them to collect enough money for paying salaries. I believe there are some counties which collect enough revenue to pay their people. There are a ... view
  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: that is collected by the counties. Therefore, strict measures should be taken once this Bill is enacted so that the counties can realise that they need to use their money well. view
