  • 24 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. Mine is a short one but I think it affects very many students. This is about the students who have already cleared school but have not cleared their balances. Many schools continue to withhold their certificates because of unpaid balances. I know this has been discussed before but it has been the practice of many schools and many school heads not to release certificates for those who have not cleared balances. I would like the Chair to tell us what the Ministry is doing to ensure that the contract between the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) ... view
  • 3 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I would like to inform the people from Meru that before Macadamia growing went to Meru, it started in Kiambu. The business died because it did not have any support. What I would like the Chairman to clarify is whether The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 1 Apr 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Deputy Speaker. The Leader of Minority Party, a man I respect, has claimed that jobs have been allocated to the two main groups in the country. We have had many appointments coming through this House and we know that the jobs have been given to people, regardless of where they come from depending on their qualification. I would request him to substantiate his claim or withdraw it all together. view
  • 26 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Deputy Speaker. The hon. Member has mentioned that a student died in Kiambu out of this act. I would like to correct him that this was an allegation about a student who had died many years before and the death was attributed to sexual assault. It did not happen last week, neither has it been proved to have happened. It is just an allegation; it should not be taken as gospel truth. view

  • 20 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. First and foremost, I would like to thank the Chairman for the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing and congratulate him for the speed at which this matter has been expedited. This was a question that was asked about a week ago and we now have an answer. In his answer, the Chairman has mentioned that the street lights on Kiambu Road which were installed in 2007 went into disrepair in 2014. That is about six years ago. I am wondering whether inspection was done after this road was constructed. How can ... view
  • 20 Mar 2014 in National Assembly: Hon Temporary Deputy Speaker, you will realize that this question was in two sections. I am through with the first section and I am in the second section now. I am sure every person who wants to create an entrance to his premises from a major road gets authority, a permit or some kind of licence from the Ministry in charge of roads. This must have been given to Ridgeways Mall and consideration given to allow free flow of traffic. How could this happen? We have been told that it is going to be done. What we have not been ... view
