Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Statement. It was very painful and touching when it was reported in the news that Kajiado County was one of the affected counties. This is especially because it was reported that Mashuru Division in Oloitokitok, where I come from, was one of the worst hit areas. these children. Imagine a child giving birth to a child; we actually need to rescue that child and also the child that has been born. They need care and counselling and, therefore, some of the proposals we made is to have rescue centers for these children for purposes of managing them. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the reason we did this is because early pregnancies and FGM are no longer issues that can be handled individually.
