Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to support this Statement by my sister Senator, who is the Vice Chairperson of the Committee on Delegated Legislation. As Members of this Committee, we are really disturbed. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the information we were given this morning as a Committee is that there was a resolution which was passed by this House that allowed the Clerk to facilitate a movement to the courts to defend this particular anomalies that are coming up. We were informed that, in fact, that was not realised because Members at that particular time were divided. So, if I was misled, that is the information I was given.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it says:- “If a copy of a statutory instrument that is required to be laid before the relevant House of Parliament is not so laid in accordance with this section, the statutory instrument shall cease to have effect immediately after the last day for it to be so laid but without prejudice to any act done under the statutory instrument before it became void.” We will write to the authorities that have such instruments and say that they are void as long as they have not been tabled before the Senate.
