  • 14 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Further to that, the Ministry was duly informed in order to ensure that no one contractor was given more than one contract. That is the reason why our CDF committees forwarded our view
  • 14 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: recommendations to your Ministry. Unfortunately it is your Ministry that flouted the same rules. Are you in order? view
  • 8 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the role of a Fund Manager is well defined in the Act. We also have a District Development Officer (DDO) whose role overlaps the Fund Manager’s functions. What is the Ministry doing to make sure that the Fund Manager is made an AIE holder? view
  • 8 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also stand to support this Procedural Motion. I would like to request the Select Committee to use less than three months, if possible, because of the urgency of the matter at hand. I hope that, as the Chairman has said, the Committee is going to visit the IDPs camps that have not been visited. • 31 May 2011 in National Assembly: Secondly, we can put the age limits and say they serve six years or if you are 70 years old, you retire. However, we should make sure we avoid people who are about 70 years. view

  • 18 May 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of information, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Let me speak as the Chairman of the PAC. It is true that the subject matter raised by Mr. Mbadi is an audit query in the 2008/2009 Financial Year. It is a matter that we are yet to deal with because it is normally raised under the first chapter of the accounts book. We normally look at it after scrutinizing and interrogating all the Ministries. As I said, this matter is before the PAC. However, I believe the House also has the right to interrogate it at any time. view
  • 10 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that he is not aware whether the late officer was a witness in the ICC case and yet we know that the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security is a Member of the Ministerial Committee that is in charge of the Witness Protection Program. Is the Assistant Minister misleading the House by saying that he is not aware whether he was part of the witnesses? Is he saying that he does not know who the witnesses are? view
