  • 9 May 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. You heard the Vice-President read out in the Library Committee a Rev. James Nyagudi. I do not know whether he meant Ken Nyagudi or is there another James Nyagudi? view
  • 3 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, how many vehicles was the Minister expecting to be returned and what is he going to do to those Ministries that have not surrendered their vehicles? view
  • 25 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this issue is a very serious one. I had asked the Assistant Minister earlier about the issue of Muslims who have to go through the vetting process. Some youth have received the waiting card. Could the Assistant Minister undertake to dialogue with the ECK so that those who have waiting cards can be allowed to register as voters while they wait for the actual identity card? view
  • 19 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is very evident that the Assistant Minister does not know what she is talking about. Right now, 95 per cent of Lake Victoria is covered with hyacinth. Fishermen cannot get any income because of that problem. Could the Assistant Minister tell this House when she will table a report showing how much money has been spent through Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project to fight water hyacinth? Could she also give an undertaking that more money will be factored in the Budget for that purpose? view

  • 11 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Education:- (a) whether he is aware that physically challenged students sit the same exams with other able-bodied students and are allocated the same amount of time to complete their papers; and, (b) what plans he has to allocate more time to the physically challenged students during examinations. view
  • 11 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am happy to know that the Ministry is taking that into consideration. However, there are some cases where the students are not given enough time to complete their papers. Is the Ministry going to give a directive or come up with a proper policy paper to ensure that all schools with disabled students are given proper time to complete their exams? view
  • 4 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for National Heritage:- (a) how much money was spent in the construction of the late Dedan Kimathi Monument in Nairobi; (b) how much the Government has given to the family of the late freedom fighter since Independence; and, (c) what plans the Government has to compensate freedom fighters in the country. view
  • 4 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you can see the misplaced priorities of this Government, whereby they would rather erect a statue for Kshs5 million but not even know what is happening to the wife of the late Dedan Kimathi. This is a woman who had to walk from where she lives to attend the launch of that statue. The son of this woman is a sweeper at the City Council. I would like to ask the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs to employ the son of this lady in his Ministry. Could he undertake that? view
  • 4 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am requesting that I ask my last April 4, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 377 question. view
