  • 7 Oct 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. My worry is that the sentiments of my colleague, Hon. Nyikal, will definitely go into the HANSARD. He has made very serious allegations in as far as the integrity of a fellow Member here is concerned. You know the allegations he has made about Hon. Kaluma. It is important that as he moves on to advance his argument, he can put them into real perspective so that it is clear and we will feel that the HANSARD captures what he is saying about Hon. Kaluma. It is important. view
  • 27 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I also join my colleagues in appreciating and recognising the exemplary work that our athletes did out there. They were the best of the ambassadors that we have had so far this year. Last evening, while walking out of these Chambers, I saw all the Members of Parliament of this House united in cheering our athletes, a spirit that showed that obviously all of us want unity and we all love this country, except that when it comes to politics we fail to fix it. I just want to urge my colleagues to do exactly what ... view

  • 27 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I wish I could be allowed to freely express myself without thinking that you are trying to gag me. We are dealing with a very important Bill. Of course, you know that we do not have the numbers. We were raising a procedural question because we were not agreeing with the way everything was going. At the point when the Leader of the Majority Party was talking about the re-committal by the Deputy Leader of the Minority Party, I had also wanted to express my reservations. I hope that the substantive Speaker will do the needful ... view
  • 28 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, you may have to protect me from the Member for Gem Constituency. He is trying to harass me. He is forgetting that while he was elected to this House by 18,000 voters, I represent over 100,000 voters. view
  • 28 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Member for Gem Constituency was suffering from this ‘mole concept’. The other day, we “cleansed” him at a serious meeting. Anyway, that is not the reason why I stand here to speak. Kenya witnessed one of it s finest moments in the past weekend. The moment was nice not because a Kenyan son came home but because he came home as the President of the USA, and the first sitting President of that country to visit this great country of ours. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified ... view
  • 28 Jul 2015 in National Assembly: The standing of our nation amongst the community of nations has greatly improved now. We now stand taller among our neighbours, who did not hesitate to troll us in 2013, when the itinerary of President Barack Obama did not allow him to visit Kenya. For us, the past weekend was historic. It was a fine moment for this country. As Africans, we are very proud of President Barack Obama because he is the first African-American to lead that great country. We are very proud because this is a Kenyan son who, from his own words, is the first Kenyan-American President ... view
