Aghostinho drafted the Bill, has engaged the Committee and the language is already in there. This language is the heart of the matter, when you talk about the rights of refugees and refugee status determination.   • 7 Jun 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Agostinho has been very gracious. He has just conceded that Clause 22 be deleted as proposed by the Chair. Why should I not insist on Clause 23? It goes very well with Clause 22. If we delete it, we will handicap the Bill and leave it to the mercy of the CS. None of us here is a prophet to tell who the CS will be. We do not know which political coalition will form the next government, who the CS will be and what regulations he will make. Let us not give up the powers of the 11th ... view

Refugee status should only be granted to people who are fleeing conflict and persecution, not to people who are participating in or creating the conflict and persecution. Thank you. I support. view
