  • 23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Principals and party leaders in this country are doing the same. I have just come from South Africa. If you mention that you are a Kenyan Member of Parliament, they ask you: What is going on in Kenya? Will the country hold? We are being asked this simple question by investors. They are not sure whether to invest here or not, because of the anticipated trial at The Hague and the fact that the two sides of the Coalition Government are reading from different scripts. view
  • 23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the party led by the Prime Minister, the ODM, has been talking about deferral and referral. This issue is affecting the country. Could he tell us the position of his party, which is a partner in the Coalition Government, on deferral since it affects this country? Are they for deferral or referral? Have they changed their tact? It is important for investors and Kenyans to know the ODM position, rather than change like chameleons! view
  • 23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to withdraw and apologise. view
  • 23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: I just want the hon. Prime Minister to tell us the position they stand for on this matter because they are part of the Coalition Government. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife what plans he has to establish tree nurseries in Nzambani and Mutito districts. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank my good friend, the Minister, for this answer. However, I want to inform him that it appears some of the information he has been given is a bit misleading. For instance, Miambani is actually in Kitui Central. It is not in Mutito District. I know the Minister is very cooperative, I will request him to visit my constituency and see the inadequacy of tree nurseries there so that we can see how we can help to establish proper tree nurseries to help that area which is a semi-arid. view
  • 23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, like I said, I know the Minister is very cooperative. Since the rains are just about to start, is he in a position to give me an view
  • 15 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, allow me to apologize on behalf of my colleague. He was here earlier and perhaps he thought that the enormous amount that was on the table from the Ministry would take the whole day. May I apologize and seek that this matter be put off until tomorrow so that the Minister can be able to deal with it. view
  • 3 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that the Government is undertaking a feasibility study with a view to establishing a fertilizer manufacturing plant in the country. We are aware that in the first Republic, there were efforts of establishing a similar plant. In fact, importation of equipment was done. What become of that initiative? Why did it stall? How much money did the Government lose at that time? view
  • 3 Feb 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, you may have realized that the coal deposits are in Kitui County. It appears a conspiracy between the Government and some private companies to get into exploring these minerals without involving the locals. Why is the Government keeping the locals in the dark more so when it comes to dealing with coal in the Kitui County? view
