6 May 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am happy again to benefit from your wisdom. Just like you have said, this is the first time that we are beginning this. It is maiden. I hope you will allow me to seek my last clarification and it shall not be repeated.

6 May 2009 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am going to be very fast just to marry the clarifications, especially on the issue of directives. I want the Prime Minister to tell this House the following: The directive that was given by the Managing Director of Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) on the maize which was contaminated was overruled by another directive given from your office. Which one was from the Coalition Government and which one was from a different Government? That is because it is important for us, as a nation, to know when the Prime Minister or any Minister in ...

6 May 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Prime Minister is misleading this House. He might be in Government, as he purports to be, but he is misleading this House for the simple reason that it was very clear from the KEBS report that the maize consignment was not supposed to be off-loaded. It was actually supposed to be sent back to South Africa. However, he intervened and decided that the maize should be off-loaded. Where was it taken? Who consumed it? Who imported the maize, Mr. Prime Minister?

29 Apr 2009 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this debate on the Supplementary Budget. From the very outset, I want to say that I support the Supplementary Budget for the obvious reason that Kenyans from all walks of life are finding it very difficult, especially the IDPs who are still in the camps and are contracting waterborne diseases just because of the inability of the Government to settle these people. So, that it is not going to be an excuse, we are committed to supporting the Government. However, Mr. Speaker, Sir, as we support this ...

29 Apr 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is not the only part of the Supplementary Budget where the Minister has slashed allocations to very essential items in the Development Vote. For example, in the education sector, the Minister has reduced the Development Vote and yet, he has increased the hospitality budget for State House to Kshs120 million. Why should your Ministry do that whereas State House is just a residence of the President? I think we have to be focused because when we talk about issues to do with the Supplementary Budget, we are saying we want to deal with emergencies. There are ...

19 Feb 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. If you listen to the discussion going on here, those who are fronting it are Members of the same Committee that brought the names here. Would I be in order to ask the Chair to rule that Members of that Committee, for example, Ms. Millie Odhiambo, Mr. Kiunjuri and the likes, to stay away of this debate and let other Members contribute? I have no problem with Mr. Miller! Any time that young people are proposed here, hon. Members come out to oppose them. We shall not allow that. It is ...

19 Feb 2009 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. While I do not want to disrupt the hon. Member, is he in order to doubt the competence of the proposed Chairman when we have been told he is qualified? Is he in order to doubt his competence?
