That is the same way we passed a law here that ensures that you can only sell potatoes packaged in 50 kilogrammes. My people in my county have benefited. My county assembly also passed a similar law in Elgeyo-Marakwet County. • 21 Jul 2021 in Senate: Monitor and report incidents of pests and diseases outbreaks to the board so that the board can now take action. I felt we should emphasize this because there must be a dichotomy between what the board will do at the national level which is a function of the national Government and what the county government is going to do. We must support the county governments. Those of you who are going to be governors, do everything possible to ensure that you deal with that issue. view

The Bill brings back and recognizes the authority and power of the CRI and the importance of knowledge and education in ensuring that we have a proper coffee produce in our country. In the previous term, we had similar instances in some counties and the Committee on Finance and Budget and Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations managed to intervene in some cases and assist county governments to find solutions. The problem here is decisions made by courts under an application by a citizen and not any of the parties in the management of the county government. Maybe the governor needs proper legal advice on how to go about this business.
