  • 19 Jun 2019 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. That is not how this House works. This House is empowered by law under Article 125 of the Constitution which says that we have the power to summon a CS to appear before this House. You have not summoned him. You have invited him. If he is not coming under invitation, you must issue writs and summon him to come here. Why? It is because we are not talking about maandazis and tea. We are talking about people dying every day. We want the Chairperson, when he stands on the Floor of ... view
  • 19 Jun 2019 in Senate: First of all, Mr. Speaker, Sir, that is something outside the reasons why Sen. (Eng.) Hargura asked a question. • 18 Jun 2019 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Have you heard what Sen. Cheruiyot just said? Is he in order to try and undermine the very petition that seeks to protect small scale tea farmers while he knows very well that we have a tea factory in Flax with a neighbouring land of over 1000 acres of tea? We also have a tea factory in Kapcherop. Mr. Speaker, you have been an administrator in that region and you know that. Is Sen. Cheruiyot in order to undermine the petition that talks about protection of small scale tea farmers? view
  • 13 Jun 2019 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, generally on the issue, Sen. Poghisio, Sen. Cherargei and I had a discussion with the Speaker about petitions. I think the message I got from that consultation was that as Senators in this Chamber, we must all act in good faith amongst ourselves. However, in good faith, it is important for colleagues to consult over such petitions. Good faith facilitates good relationships in ... view
