  • 3 Nov 2021 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, based on that useful information, when Sen. Sakaja will be replying and before we pass the report, I will be interested to know to what extent the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was involved in this process. The Government of Kenya has not given a comprehensive report on the cause of death for many people who have died and been buried. Were they strangled or beaten? What is the legal regime of Saudi Arabia? Again, the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cannot be over-emphasized in this matter. ... view
  • 3 Nov 2021 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I am sure that the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection deals with bilateral relationships. Even as we discuss whether to block the place or not, they must have bilateral talks with various governments of the Middle East on this important matter and the report from those bilateral engagements must be tabled in this House. view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, in the same spirit, am I in order to request your office to give directions to the Clerk and the staff to do thorough orientation for Sen. Ngugi and to request Sen. Ngugi to take a break from his recent active political activities and take these lessons seriously to facilitate his participation in the House? view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, for the record, I am the captain of the Senate Football Team and the vice-captain of the Bunge Football Team . I take the sports sector very seriously. We have a problem in the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage and the management of sports in this country. The problem is in terms of where Kenya places sports. Even though we pay lip service by saying that we want to solve problems affecting the youth, we put little resources to the sports sector. From the statement that Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has come with, we would like ... view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: I request that we look at the question of building of the extra nine stadia in this country and consider the problem of Kamariny Stadium in Iten, which is used by more than 3,000 athletes to train. A contractor was given a little amount of money to start the project, which has since stalled. The place is now dilapidated; the athletes cannot train and the footballers cannot also play. Instead of focusing on providing the infrastructure for supporting sports, the Cabinet Secretary wants to interfere with sports in this country in a manner that is unacceptable. If the FKF will ... view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: I do not know where Sen. Sakaja has gone to. Has he gone somewhere or is he here? view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: I thought you are running away from responsibility. You always do not run away from responsibility. view

  • 19 Oct 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. You are very kind. First, I would like to thank Sen. Cherargei for coming up with this Statement. Last week on Friday, Governor Sang, hon. Sudi and myself visited the family of Agnes Tirop at their home in Nandi County. It was a sad occasion. When this murder occurred, I was shocked because I know Iten to have been a peaceful town. The people of Iten recognise athletes. Iten is nothing without athletes. It is one of the towns that have been developed by the resources of our athletes running all over the world. Iten ... view
