• 18 Apr 2023 in Senate: Accordingly, on 25th January, 2023, the Committee resolved to conduct induction and work planning retreat from16th to 20th February, 2023, in Kwale County. However, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the meeting had to be rescheduled. The Committee has since resolved to split the induction retreat into a series of targeted meetings with stakeholders from this week, Thursday, 13th to Saturday, 15th April, 2023, in Kiambu County. Without proper data, it would be impossible for this country to plan effectively for PWDs. When you see statistics are not consistent, it means that Government interventions that are supposed to go towards supporting PWDs in this country will be so inconsistent and will not make any meaningful progress. We had the opportunity yesterday to have a sitting with a number of unions. However, there are things that need to be put into perspective. Mr. Speaker, Sir, we have heard the Senator for Nairobi City County saying we cannot continue blame games here and there because health is a devolved function. view

We agree with this Petition, that other than the UHC staff, we also have internship programmes for the various cadres of health. Some cadres are given stipends during internship while there are others who do not. For those stipends that are being paid, it also varies for the same cadres in the different trainings.
