  • 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I was in the Opposition for many years. We were the architect of the anti-corruption law. Do you remember the Kombo Report and the list of shame? It was prepared by us. view
  • 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is what we set to implement when we got into the Government. I will explain why it was not possible. The fight against corruption is not easy. You heard me say one time that the hunter became the hunted. If you analyze the forces of corruption in the society, they are also there. It is just like Jesus and Satan. The forces of evil and forces of good compete in society. Sometimes, the forces of evil win. They come in different forms. Some will come speaking very good legal language. Some will come speaking very good ... view
  • 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, of course, Members are giving their own interpretations. What I said is that in a society, there are both forces of good, forces of evil, forces of light and forces of darkness. This is a reality. Indeed, if there are no forces of evil in society, there will be no bishops. What will they be fighting against? view
  • 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, what there is, is a struggle between those forces. I am not saying that the forces of evil are going to win because I believe I am going to heaven. I do say that it is a struggle. Sometimes, projects are started with very good intentions, but they are captured, distorted and, sometimes, even powerful institutions like the media are made to make the guilty innocent and the innocent guilty. view
  • 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am telling Parliament: Let us take action. Let us not talk, talk and talk. Let us approve these names. Let us have the directors in place so that, that institution works. Let those who are in the wrong be caught. Let those who are in wrong be punished. We might be helping to assist the forces of corruption in our society by having no effective anti-corruption authority. view
  • 10 May 2012 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 3 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this critical Motion. I rise to support this Motion. Before I give my reasons, allow me to declare my interest in this Motion, especially as relates to the County Governments Bill, 2012. I think I have already stated in public that come 2012, I will be seeking the position of Senator in the Meru County. The delay in enactment of this Bill specifically affects my political interest. I would, therefore, like to support this Motion because it will assist me to realize my dreams of being ... view
  • 3 May 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I have heard the Members of Parliament saying that they are going to oppose these Bills to teach the Executive a lesson. These Bills are not about teaching anybody a lesson. These Bills are for the benefit of Kenyans. I think it is in the new chamber where it is written at the door that it is for the welfare of men and I would like to include women. Parliament is for the welfare of the people of Kenya. It is not the business of Parliament to punish Ministers or the Executive. The business of Parliament ... view
  • 16 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of information, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 16 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, indeed, it is true what the hon. Members are saying that my Ministry did write a letter to the Minister for Finance because there was that intention of reducing the Government shareholding to about 50 per cent. We had requested that we transfer Kshs2 billion to REA because the budget for REA was grossly under-funded. The Members of Parliament wanted to raise money for that. However, we did not receive any money from the Treasury, but I am not quite sure - because I was not aware whether this question was coming - whether we actually sold ... view
