  • 30 Oct 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I feel very passionate and proud to talk about education. I feel even more proud to talk about ECD. The greatest, the most learned, the richest people and the great philanthropists we have in this country are products of our education system. What we put into our education system is what we get out of it. Madam Temporary Speaker, I want to start by thanking the Committee on Education, Information and Technology. Honestly, they have done a good job. As I said last week when we were debating their other report on the other counties, ... view

  • 25 Sep 2013 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I do not have the powers to confer. I wish I had. I just recommended and for the benefit of the Senator from Mombasa, my brother, Sen. Hassan, Honorary Degrees are conferred by university communities upon recommendation by the public. I think we should start linking up with universities like the University of Nairobi to recommend Kenyans. It does not have to be a politician. • 11 Jul 2013 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The use of the word “concoct” is not parliamentary language. I would want to know whether Sen. • 19 Jun 2013 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, nevertheless, the point I was making is that we need new ideas that can make us solve our problems faster. Other than that, I would like to thank my brother, the Senate Minority Leader for bringing out some of the benefits of mobile telephone networks in some of our remote parts of this country, the economic benefits and the security benefits which are important for fighting crime. Some of these areas are difficult to police and, perhaps, the solution to insecurity problem lies in this Motion being implemented. There are even social benefits where constituents who are ... view

So, it is the business of the Majority or the Minority to decide, subject to the approval of the House, which Members they want to sit in what Committees. But that aside, I just want to say that we--- view
