  • 3 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir. New Clause 51(N) says:- “There shall be a general fund of the Institute which shall vest in the Board in Board of Institute and into which shall be paid- (a) monies appropriated by Parliament---” I believe that it should be by the National Assembly. view
  • 3 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also rise to thank the Committee for the work it has done. I am a very happy man because the compensation issue has been done very well. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 3 Dec 2013 in National Assembly: I believe that the issue of human-wildlife conflict will be resolved once and for all. This is a Christmas gift for those people who live in areas where there is wildlife and more so the people of Narok County. Thank you. view
  • 31 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to second this Motion. As it has been said clearly by the Mover of the Motion, tourism contributes a lot to the economic development of this country. In 2013, this sector brought in Kshs96 billion to the Kenyan Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Therefore, it is very important for the people who are living near areas bordering wildlife to be looked after by the Government. The trend has been that in case of death the compensation by KWS has been Kshs200,000; it is even a problem for these people to get ... view
  • 2 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: On a point of order, hon. Speaker, Sir. Is hon. John Mbadi in order to say that the appointment came from the President when he knows very well that three persons where shortlisted and the Committee actually picked one? view
  • 11 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I stand to support the Motion as amended. First and foremost, I want to thank and congratulate the Budget and Appropriations Committee for a job well done. I wish to thank the President for assenting to this Bill. Why do I support this Motion? Basically, the Committee has done us proud by including Kshs1.3 billion for Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC). It was not catered for initially, but the Committee saw the need to inject this money for the sake of our farmers. I also want to thank the Chairman for amending this Motion ... view

  • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, I want to congratulate you for having given me this opportunity. Since you were elected Speaker, you have never given me an opportunity and I thank you for this one. view
  • 5 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: I rise to support this Report because I have been waiting for the appointment of the person to be in charge of our internal security. Yesterday I was so bitter when an hon. Member raised the issue of lack of quorum when we were discussing the issue of insecurity. Most Kenyans have lost lives and property because of lack of security. I can view
  • 22 May 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this Motion. I wish to thank hon. Ganya for bringing this Motion before this House. I come from a county where tourism is a major source of revenue. The elephants are among the “big five” and whenever we are branding Kenya in terms of tourism promotions, we use the elephant, the rhino and the leopard as our marketing animals. Poaching will make elephants extinct in this nation. As it has been said by one hon. Member, the elephant takes very many years to mature. So, I urge this House to support this Motion ... view
  • 16 May 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, my names are ole Lemein Korei from Narok South Constituency. I rise to support the Motion. I wish to congratulate the Leader of Majority Party and Leader of Minority Party as well because I believe this country is big enough for Jubilee and CORD. I want to say that I support the Motion. Thank you. view
  • 25 Apr 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, Sir. My names are Korei Lemein, MP for Narok South. May I join the rest of my colleagues in congratulating you and the Deputy Speaker. May I also take this opportunity to thank God and the people of Narok South for giving me an opportunity to represent them in this House. With regard to this Motion, I would like to thank hon. Gitari for bringing this Motion before us. The NHIF has a mission and a vision. I believe that their work is to cushion Kenyans in terms of cost when it comes to medical care. ... view
