  • 10 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, one of the challenges faced in the livestock sector is marketing. Most of the livestock farmers drive their animals long distances to access market. What is the Ministry doing to make sure that the farmers do not subject their livestock to long distances in order to access the market? view
  • 10 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife whether he could provide a list of reported cases of persons killed by wild animals in Narok South in the last five years and confirm the Government action on each incident. view
  • 10 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for the answer. However, looking at this answer, he has not given the time-frame within which he is going to conclude processing and payment of the claims in respect of the remaining victims. view
  • 10 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, what plans does the Ministry have to compensate farmers for livestock killed by wildlife? view
  • 7 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the last three years, livestock farmers have not sold their cows due to poor health. Now that the rains have come and the animals have fattened, it is still very difficult for the livestock farmers to sell their cows. Could the Minister confirm that even the KMC does not buy animals from farmers because they are fat? What will the Ministry do to save the farmers from that situation? view
  • 30 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: In his answer, the Assistant Minister has indicated that there is a shortage of about 69 teachers in that district. He has said that he has employed three teachers for primary schools and four for secondary schools. Those three teachers are against how many primary schools? The four teachers are against how many secondary schools? view
  • 16 Jun 2010 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, arising from the answer given by the Assistant Minister, he says the park is there for the benefit of the local community. Instead of him being general, could he specify or cite certain programmes that the local community has directly benefited from that park? view
  • 1 Apr 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I stand to oppose this amendment. We all belong to our ethnic groups. We also have our own identities. If you asked the Mover of the amendment the question; what is in a name? When we talk about communities, I think that these can also be identified in terms of ethnicity. However, when it suits some people, that is when they say they want to unite the country. When it does not suit them, they say they want to go national. view
  • 1 Apr 2010 in National Assembly: I oppose this on the ground that we must be identified. With regard to the issue of minorities, we only get to know these people when they are identified by name. view
