  • 1 Oct 2024 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I will begin by saying that I empathize with my brother, Sen. Chute. I do so because when he is here, he wears two hats; he is the Chairperson of the Committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunities and Regional Integration, which ensures that there is equity. Even if there is no equality and fair representation in this country, but he is also a Member of the Senate, which represents all the 47 counties. We are being invited to debate a matter that this honourable House and the National Assembly’s joint Committees were given facts ... view
  • 1 Oct 2024 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I, therefore, request this House that out of the respect for the Senators who represented this House in the joint Committee with the National Assembly, to approve the appointment of this gentleman to serve, let us give him the opportunity to prove himself. Companies that can import these cans from outside the country, or they imported way before, and they are better quality because of safety standards, and they never paid the duty, will have a much better, they will have a sort of like a higher ground to compete with these other lower ones. They will have an advantage over companies now importing and are subject to that ... view
  • 20 Aug 2024 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to seek some clarification from the counsel for the Assembly. Yesterday, when you were leading one of your witnesses, you alleged the fact that the governor had made a statement and said that witness was given Kshs86 million. There is an account number 075560442, which is also for Pay bill No.247247, which I believe is for Equity Bank. Do you have that statement ... view

  • 20 Aug 2024 in Senate: Maybe I missed it. Do you have any report where the County Assembly of Meru debated on the Auditor-General’s findings and took appropriate action, so that we can look into it, or did you just take the Auditor-General’s report and submit it as part of your case? view
